This rare concert is a homecoming for Clyde Kerr Jr., who grew up with St.
Peter Claver Church as an integral part of his life. His parents were
married in the church, and he often attended dances in the St. Peter Claver
auditorium where his father's big band performed.

Kerr attended St. Peter Claver School, and he served Mass as an altar boy.
In addition, he has performed in the church and auditorium many times.

In his lifetime, Kerr has seen jazz accepted inside the church, and his
CD-release concert represents an important professional and emotional
milestone.
