WHAT:
Marco Benevento comes to New Orleans on Friday, September 4 and Saturday, September 5 for two shows at the Blue Nile. On the first night, the 31-year old Brooklyn-based and ubiquitious late night NOLA Jazzfest pianist will be joined by some of his Big Easy friends, including sousaphonist Kirk Joseph and drummers Stanton Moore and Johnny Vidacovich for an evening of wide-open, mind-melting improv exploration. On the second night, Benevento will lead a trio, featuring bassist Peter Harris and drummer Stanton Moore, to perform music from his two solo albums: the recently released, Me Not Me, and it's predecessor, Invisible Baby.
