Three-time Grammy award-winning trumpet player and composer Terence Blanchard will premiere music from his upcoming new CD, “Choices,” at a concert at the Ogden Museum of Southern Art on Friday, July 31.
This is the first time that Blanchard has recorded an album in New Orleans. The new CD, “Choices,” was recorded in early March in the Ogden’s Patrick F. Taylor Library. The Library, completed in 1889, is the only existing building in the South designed by New Orleans native H.H. Richardson. Proceeds from the concerts will benefit the Ogden Museum of Southern Art. The “Choices” premiere concerts will feature Terence Blanchard and his band—Fabian Almazan on piano, Derrick Hodge on bass, Kendrick Scott on drums and Walter Smith III on saxophone, and special guest vocalist Bilal. SHOWS ARE AT 7:30 p.m. & 9:30 p.m. TICKETS: $40 for museum members, seniors (65+) and students (18+) with valid ids |
