NINE LIVES LIVE:
A Musical Story of New Orleans @ Tipitina's French Quarter 233 N Peters St October 22nd, 2011 7PM Doors | 8PM Show Advance Tickets Available NINE LIVES LIVE: A Musical Story of New Orleans is the musical adaptation of the book Nine Lives, written by New Yorker staff writer, Dan Baum. The story, based on the life experiences of nine New Orleans residents, is an oral history of New Orleans from Hurricane Betsy in 1965 through Katrina. The portrait of New Orleans that emerges is eccentric, fierce, funny, heartbreaking, terrifying and - ultimately - breathtakingly human and true. In 2010, Baum & Paul Sanchez joined forces to bring the story to life, musically and recorded a much acclaimed album. The album was performed live for the first time in its entirety at Le Petite Theatre in April, 2011. You can watch a video clip of the performance here. On October 22nd at Tipitina's French Quarter, a star-studded cast will bring the album to life again! Don't miss as Michael Cerveris, Paul Sanchez, Arsene DeLay, Shamarr Allen, Debbie Davis, Vance Vaucresson, Jesse Moore, Vatican Lokey, Tara Brewer, Alex McMurray, Matt Perrine & Carl Palmer perform NINE LIVES LIVE: A Musical Story of New Orleans. |
