Join Khris Royal & Dark Matter, and an array of their musical friends, as they celebrate the debut of KRDM's first studio album Dark Matter at the Maple Leaf Bar on Friday, September 30th!



Khris Royal & Dark Matter are a young alternative funk band on the forefront of the NOLA music scene. From electronic funk to traditional jazz, Royal is a dynamic saxophonist and multi-talented young artist whose instrumental dexterity and prowess as a band leader commands attention every time he takes the stage. To create their signature sound, Khris Royal employs the electric sounds of Groovesect's Danny Abel on Guitar, DJ Raymond on Bass, the stylistic harmonies of Kyle Roussell on keys and the energetic drumming of Terrence Houston.

KRDM are quickly building momentum, with killer debut sets at both the N.O. Jazz & Heritage Festival (Jazz Tent) and Gulf Shore's popular new Hangout Festival. Earlier this year, Royal was nominated for two 2010 Best of the Beat Awards: Best Emerging Artist and Best Saxophonist.
