DELGADO INVITES PUBLIC TO FREE CONCERT BY LAUREN PELON CELEBRATING THE
HISTORY OF WOMEN IN MUSIC FROM AROUND THE WORLD



Delgado Community College will present a unique
concert, "Women in Music: Someone Will Remember Us," by internationally
known performer Lauren Pelon on Friday, March 13, 2009, 2 p.m. in the
Lac Maurepas Room on the second floor of Delgado City Park Campus'
Student Life Center (615 City Park Avenue, New Orleans, La.). The
concert, which is free and open to the public, traces the story of women
in music through the performance of songs from around the world.



The concert celebrates music written by, or for, women. Crossing the
boundaries of time, distance and culture, Pelon sings and plays
approximately 25 ancient and modern instruments, some of which were
traditionally played by women, some forbidden to women.
