Recorded at Cosimo Matassa's J&M Recording Studio, it represents the rock 'n roller's early venture into popular, big band styles. Some of New Orleans finest musicians, including pianist Ellis Marsalis, drummer James Black, then-guitarist Mac Rebennack (pre-Dr. John) and more were assembled. Ford, the maker of the smash hit "Sea Cruise," is heard as never before swinging and crooning on tunes that celebrate streets, avenues, roads and boulevards. As Ford would say, "Ooh-wee, baby." www.louisianamusicfactory.com Other CDc by Frankie Ford http://koti.mbnet.fi/wdd/frankieford.htm |
