Summary
Originally called “Recollections of Country Life, “ the Pastoral Symphony depicts Beethoven the nature lover experiencing the joy and terror that nature can bring, from babbling brooks to bird calls to fearsome storms. Featured in the Disney film Fantasia, it has brought joy to generations of nature loving fans. This concert also features the stunning Pipa virtuoso Wu Man, just returning from an international tour with Yo Yo Ma’s Silk Road Ensemble.
