St. Martin's new CD, "Katrina Anthem" is gaining widespread attention and momentum, and is a "must buy" for 2009 if you want to support a New Orleans musician who survived Katrina, whose music is critically reviewed with accolades.
"Orleans Lullaby" is St. Martin's "own Katrina Anthem" - an original he penned "after months of not being able to sleep after Katrina".
This collection includes six other "full-band-sound" songs from previous CDs of St. Martin's, plus his new "Orleans Lullaby". He performed "Orleans Lullaby" for the press conference in the Lower Ninth Ward for Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's Pink Project as part of their Make It Right Foundation's work in the recovery of New Orleans.
St. Martin and his all-star cast of superstar players include: the late Danny Federici (from Bruce Springsteen's E-Street Band), Kenny Gradney (bass player for Little Feat), Dony Wynn (former drummer with Robert Palmer), Kirk Bruner (backups who was drummer with Melissa Manchester and Mac Davis), Stephen Allen (sax with Rita Coolige), Stanley Behrens (sax, who is the lead singer for the touring band Canned Heat), Marabina Jaimes (back ups, an Emmy winner), and Paul Devilliers (who produced Mr. Mister and YES), to list a few.
