Le Petit Théâtre du Vieux Carré and the Backbeat Foundation are collaborating to present Made in the Shade, a weekend of music at Le Petit Théâtre du Vieux Carré. Made in the Shade will be held in the famed French Quarter during a busy time in the French Quarter, on the afternoons of April 8th-10th. The historic shutters and doors of Le Petit Théâtre will be open to the public from noon to 6PM. Admission to the venue and showcase is free.

Made in the Shade will feature a musical snapshot of the diverse musical genres of New Orleans and South Louisiana, showcasing up-and-coming bands from the Crescent City and beyond-- ranging from Funk, to Blues, to Contemporary Jazz, to Indie Rock, to Soul and Rock n' Roll. The setting of the French Quarter provides the ideal environment for these artists to showcase their talent to the music loving New Orleans community. Le Petit Théâtre fosters an intimate atmosphere for the audience to connect with the bands and a fabulous place to grab a drink and relax.

The Made in the Shade showcase will be presented in the small performance stage known as Muriel's Cabaret in Le Petit Théâtre du Vieux Carré. There will be seating available for patrons in the theater and lush courtyard. There will also be refreshing beverages and drink specials, served via cash bar, available throughout the day.
