John Mahoney is the director of the Jazz Studies program at Loyola University New Orleans. He leads one of the premier big bands in New Orleans: The John Mahoney Big Band. His concert at Snug Harbor will be a rare treat; it is not often one can hear original Christmas arrangements and compositions performed by a big band! Mahoney recorded many of these for his CD: “Christmas Joy” which is on sale at his website and will be available at the Snug Harbor!
